Contemporary Hatha Yoga, honours the traditional forms of Hatha Yoga, with the freedom to adjust, modify and add to these forms to suit the western body and mind

An holistic practice of yoga, that focuses not just primarily on the physiccal postures, but also includes the other aspects that comprise the traditional forms of yoga.

During these classes we practice either a pranayama (breathing technique  / inquiry). or meditation at the start of the class, gentle awakening stretches / free movement, yoga asanas (physical postures), deep relaxation, and at times, discuss some yoga philosophy.

Students are encouraged to develop their own home practice and endeavour to cultivate self-awareness and self reflection, and at times, discuss some yoga philosophy.

Whilst a healthy and vibrant physical body can be one of the side effects of a regular yoga practice, this is not the primary focus of these classes.

Over a period of time and effort, you may experience:

  • Improved mental focus and clarity
  • A feeling of being more relaxed and able to remain calm
  • A better quality of sleep
  • Feeling stronger
  • A sense of balance on all levels
  • Feeling more confident
  • A feeling of deepening connection to your own spiritual path
  • More compassion, kindness & love for all beings
