Deep Tissue Massage is very similar to Swedish massage, but uses deeper pressure to more effectively release chronic muscle tension. The focus is on the deepest layers of muscle tissue, tendons and fascia. It is very helpful to decrease blood pressure, stress hormone levels and stabilise your heart rate and can help you to relax and feel better by triggering the release of oxytocin and serotonin. It goes deeper than normal massage and so it is recommended that one first be comfortable and familiar with the standard practice of massage.
